Momina Mustehsan Early Life

Momina Mustehsan is a New York based Pakistani vocalist and musician. She is an engineer by profession. Momina Mustehsan was born on 5 September 1992. Her mother Huma Mustehsan is a doctor and her father Kazim Mustehsan is a retired General. Momina Mustehsan completed her A’Level from Lahore Grammar School, and she graduated in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University, New York in 2016 and plans to start her masters in Industrial Engineering later this year.

Momina Mustehsan Career

Momina Mustehsan debut as a singer in Farhan Saeed’s Pee Jaun on the request of her friend Saad Sultan. She composed, wrote and recorded her part in music video in her university dormitory and send it to Sultan where he edit her part with the rest of the song. Later she recalled, “Pee Jaun” in Nescafe Basement.

In 2011, Momina Mustehsan recorded a song “Sajna” for Junoon’s 20th anniversary album. In 2014, she recorded a song “Awari” for Pakistani band Soch who approached her, without telling her that they are going to use the song in Indian film Ek Villain. She was praise immensely for her song “Awari” across the border. Momina has been covering songs for quite a while now. Other than singing, she can play the violin, keyboard and a guitar.

Momina Mustehsan sang the Nusrat Fateh Ali’s famous ghazal “Afreen Afreen” in Coke Studio 9 and has really left a mark on the Pakistani audience. Its her duet with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
